I went to the tailor today. Visits to the tailor are fraught with excitement, anticipation and dread. Masterji, as I call him, and I have been doing business for more than a decade now. He has a long face, with a moustache and straight - almost spikey - hair that flops over his forehead. He is... Sign in to see full entry.

My second Blogit Anniversary
I have been waiting for this day, keenly. I marked it on my calendar and want to share my thoughts on being two years old on Blogit. It was this day, exactly twenty four months ago, that I discovered Blogit. I uploaded my first post, my first ever blog and was rather thrilled at it. I did not know... Sign in to see full entry.

Just Being
A few days ago my friend Ragini called. It was just a check in call, to say hello. We chatted for a while and I asked her what she was busy with. Nothing, she said. We both laughed. It was Friday and I was feeling a little poorly with the viral symptoms that come and go at this time of the year -... Sign in to see full entry.
My weekend with Jenny
I invited my friend Jenny to spend the weekend at our home. Jenny lives and works in London. She e-mailed me last week that she would be in Delhi for work. Would I be in town? I was delighted to receive her email, said yes I would, and asked her to spend Saturday night with us. I met Jenny in 1987... Sign in to see full entry.

Sweet, sweet Papaya
A few days ago, I had the sweetest papaya. I have papaya everyday. Besides liking the fruit, it's good for me. The orange colour, set up by the black seeds as you cut it open, is a visual delight. It's texture, a bit between a mango and a peach, is just right against the palette. My association with... Sign in to see full entry.

TV - Attention Deficit Disorder?
TV is a little like Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). A few days ago, I got a call from Kuala Lumpur from the TV network, Al Jazeera, a Qatar based network, broadcasting news and views from an Arab perspective. They were doing a programme on cosmetic surgery in East Asia (specifically Korea and... Sign in to see full entry.

Yoga, movements and activity
I just finished a 45-minute yoga session. Three times a week Anil, the yoga teacher, comes to our home to take us through yoga postures and breathing. My husband, Mahesh, and I opt for this because we do not have the discipline to do it on our own. Over the years my experiences with yoga and other... Sign in to see full entry.

International Women's Day
Yesterday, March 8, was International Women's Day or IWD, as it has been called. The first time I became aware of IWD was when I lived in the US. In 1974, a few months before the day came around a fair amount of activity started on campus. After asking around (no Goggle in those days!) I found out... Sign in to see full entry.

Tranported back in time - the photo project
Yesterday, I started sorting out the photographs. There are 20 albums and about 15 large envelopes containing photos and negatives. I asked Prakash to put them all in a carton in the guest room. My goal is one album a day, at least. I started on the largest one - a ring binder, with 40 leaves, in... Sign in to see full entry.
