It was just the other day that our boy Buster hit a 500-foot blast. Oh, yeah, the huge centerfield scoreboard in Milwaukee, "jumped up" and knocked the ball down at 436 feet. In reality the true dimensions of Posey's "blast" were historic. It wasn't a surprise. In 2008 he was Amateur Player of the Year as he (heroically) took over at catcher for Florida State. As a Barry Bonds/Giants fan, I am forced to file this thought. Where did Albert Pujols "go?" He started this season a rapidly shrinking man. He has very quickly regained some of his size. It reminds me of the body changes that occurred during the steroid era. When Bonds set the all-time homer record, the Dodger Nation controlled ESPN crystal ball was ready to hand the long ball records over to Pujols, Rodriguez, etc. Looks like catching Bonds HR records may be a little harder than the smogville... Anyone with a heart watching that SF-Pitt 2011 game is baffled. Why did the Pittsburgh coach leave his star QB in the game to be trashed by the killer SF "D"? The 49ers led early to late and they led big in the second half. It looked like the Steeler coach had a grudge against his starting QB and he was taking it out on him by letting him get killed.
