I had to travel to the office in London today. Normally it's a car journey to Cambridge then train to King's Cross and then underground train to Hyde Park Corner. It's actually really easy and everything normally goes ok. Except the RMT union has been on strike in London for 48 hours (it ended this... Sign in to see full entry.

Head down
When I got home from the day job last night I was absolutely shattered. I cooked the children's tea and then went straight to bed! Lucky for me Claire decided to bring her book in and snuggled down with me and we read until our eyes said enough! I worked from home today - partly because of the tube... Sign in to see full entry.

Tired but not retired
Hello again I'm sorry not to have written for so long. The day job has been manic in terms of content and discontent, politics and puerrile naval gazing so no change there! However, I've written the first two draft chapters of my novel so that has halped but also taken me away from Blogit. We also... Sign in to see full entry.

AGM: Let's all panic
The company holds its AGM today and annual Members' Lunch. People here are of course running around like headless chickens as this is a major publicity exercise. Those that are particularly frantic are those who use it as ain internal publicity exercise to show how good they are. Never mind; had a... Sign in to see full entry.

Day job taking all day
Sorry for not posting for a few days. In truth the day job has been really hectic again and so, so dull at the same time! Christian and I went up to Derbyshire at the weekend to stay with my parents and had a lovely time - Dad's breathing seems to be a lot better. They live in a converted barn in... Down but not out
I hope you all enjoyed Easter Sunday. We had a lazy morning with the papers, radio and lots of coffee then drove into Cambridge to pick Ivan up. His party in Southend seemed to go well - so well it was a struggle for him to stay awake for the rest of the day. Susan and I then had a lovely walk... Sign in to see full entry.

Bacon sandwiches
were a great start to our day today. Ivan and Christian managed to drag themselves out of bed as the sizzling sounds and enticing aromas spread through the sleepy haze of relaxation. Ivan then left for a party in Southend with some of his old friends from the Royal Ballet School while Christian went... Sign in to see full entry.

A new beginning
At 2.00 GMT on Good Friday 2009, I started my novel! I know that sounds a little grand and pretentious but I am so thrilled that I have finally made a start. It feels as though I have waited my whole life for this moment. I know that those two words 'The End' are a long way off and may disappear in... Sign in to see full entry.

Thanks
for your good wishes. I took another day off today as was still feeling unwell. I planned to work from home originally but everyone at work advised me to rest. Now, normally, I've had ignored this and logged on anyway but today I didn't. I've been doing some housekeeping tasks instead and feel... Sign in to see full entry.

Sickness
I'm afraid I haven't been online this week because I've been on a different kind of line: a horizontal one! I got up at 5.30 on Monday morning and just felt dreadful so had Monday and yesterday off. I went into London this morning and felt even worse so have come home again and will do a bit from... Sign in to see full entry.
