OK, so prayer has its limitations. The computer still doesn't work despite repeated kicks, throwing it across the room, loud screams and threats of torture. However, did get the Power Suite Pro working in it, which I considered to be a major achievement. The only trouble was, it needed me to tell it... Sign in to see full entry.
Yes, you've sussed it. I have computer problems. Fortunately I have two laptops ('cos I live in two houses, Rocking Rectory which belongs to the Church and our own little bungalow where we escape on my day off). The older laptop at the bungalow has been vainly striving to download SP1 for weeks now.... Sign in to see full entry.
Just back from the Chapter Christmas lunch. We went to a pub in the next diocese for a three course meal - excellent - topped off with coffee and mints. My neighbour, who has aspirations to be a bishop (sadly, never to be recognised) discovered a purple hat in his Christmas cracker so took it as a... Sign in to see full entry.
The parish where Ed and I live had a Christmas Fayre yesterday, so I felt obliged to wander up and support it (there's no end to the excitement around here). As it happens, the Hunt had gathered on the village green outside the pub and a friend of mine was there with his camera. So here are some of... Sign in to see full entry.

Six local businesses which had promised us cash folded overnight, which is just terrible for the owners and their workers and not good for us. Still, plenty of people are coming to enjoy the... Our Christmas Tree festival kicked off this evening after the service of light which was packed. The Bishop Of Norwich came with his wife and he opened the festival for us. It looks amazing! Fifty trees filling the church with light and colour and fairy lights strung across from pillar to pillar.... Sign in to see full entry.
I have a puncture in my rear bike tyre, which may be a blessing in disguise. I had intended to cycle to St Mary's yesterday morning, but the tyre was looking exceedingly sad and deflated so I had to drive. Since I discovered that I needed the windscreen wipers on 'delay' all the time, I was quite... Sign in to see full entry.
The meeting last night was just as dire as I expected and rather longer than I had hoped. This church has had 1662 worship since - well, 1662! There has never been any suggestion of change and to be honest, they have always produced good worship. But then disaster struck. They lost their organist.... Sign in to see full entry.
