We've had a really lazy day today and I feel so refeshed as a result. Susan and I took Ivan into his GAP job in Cambridge this morning (minus 5 this morning which is really cold for us soft East Anglians!) then bought some lovely satsumas, avocados and a cauliflower from the market on Market Square.... It's all fine; weird but fine
Hello everyone It's been a really busy week on the consultancy front. I went back to my previous employer of 21 years with me now a consultant and them the client. I think it will all work really well to be honest and I will be able to advise and suggest and guide but not have ultimate... Sign in to see full entry.

First day
Today was the first day of my new professional life and I have to say it was abit of a surreal experience. Not getting up in what seemed like the middle of the night or facing the two hour journey each way was weird and I found it hard at first to get down to some real work. As straightforward... I can't believe
that it's over a month since I posted on Blogit! In fact the last time I posted, on 1st December 2009, is indeed synonymous with a totally different part of my life it seems. Because I have since left my job of 21 years and begun as a full-time consultant, and also moved house and enjoyed the whole... Sign in to see full entry.

Limbo
Because of my impending change at the day job it feels a little like a limbo situation at the moment. I have lots to do and not many days left in the office but I'm bound to say I'm thinking all the time now about the wider consultancy opportunities from January. I'll still find much of the work... I haven't packed it in
Honest! But we have spent all weekend packing and there's still lots to do before our deadline of Wednesday evening. I'm really sorry for not posting; no, really, I'd have much rather been writing... The end is in sight and we were able to celebrate Claire's thirteenth birthday today. We had a break... Sign in to see full entry.

Packing, packing and er more packing
It's like living in a despatch depot for Amazon in our house at the moment. There are cardboard boxes piled high and, of course, the more we pack the less room we have to move around the house. Susan has worked like a trojan each day before going off to teach and the cats have quickly learned not to... Sign in to see full entry.

Beautiful music
As I mentioned, Claire and I went to the Cambridge University concert hall last night to listen to a classical concert put on by Ivan's chool: Hills Road Sixth Form College. I wasn't sure if Claire would last the pace but I think she thoroughly enjoyed it - particularly the chocolate ice cream... Sign in to see full entry.

Snow Patrol played on, and on
The Snow Patrol at the Albert Hall last night was really fantastic. For those of you who may not have visited, it is quite an intimate venue - despite holding 5,000 people - and a number of bands play a kind of acoustic or 'unplugged' set there. The band played a really beautiful first half, which... Sign in to see full entry.

Astonishing!
Our buyers exchanged contracts with us on the house yesterday - quite late in the afternoon in line with their overly cautious approach. Hoorah! We're still expecting more questions but completion is set for Friday 4th December and we will just take their money and run if they mess us around... Sign in to see full entry.
