Well the match last night proved to be a fabulous occasion, as we thought it might. We had a lot of Friday afternoon traffic and someone had set fire to the central reservation on the M62 so there was a good deal of traffic chaos before the game - so much so that the kick off was delayed for fifteen... Leeds United beckons
Christian and I are off to see Leeds United play Preston this evening in the first-leg of the Play-Off semi-final. If we get through these two games we are due to play in the Play-Off final in Cardiff on May 21st. Ivan is at school and not wholly impressed that we're going but we've assured him that... The evening was good too
Following on from my post yesterday we had a lovely spring evening. Christian had football practice and Claire came along. In the winter months she has been staying with my mother for an hour while Christian has rejoiced in rain and wind and calf injuries from the astro turf. I have sometimes braved... Oh what a beautiful morning
I woke up this morning to clear skies and sunshine and immediately it felt good. We were awake for part of the night as an engine was running in the farm or the layby down river which didn't get especially loud but was intrusive enough to break into our dreams. Having said that, I felt more awake... Sign in to see full entry.

Riding away into the distance
Claire and I went for a bike ride yesterday. It was a beautiful evening with a little breeze but beautiful sky as we watched the sun setting behind our house. She asked if we could go and I was so happy to hear that she still values Daddy’s company. I have no reason to doubt it but obviously I’m... Sign in to see full entry.

Miss Marple's no mystery to me
We snuggled down to watch a TV adaptation of an Agatha Christie detective mystery last night – the Sittaford Mystery – featuring his masterly creation, Miss Marple. Now I have to say that I remember Margaret Rutherford playing this part in the 1960’s and she was as tough on the outside as Joan... Sign in to see full entry.

Being reminded
Christian had a friend round to play yesterday. Claire had gone to a ‘hot tub party’ in the nearby village and Ivan stayed in school, fretting over a broken guitar string. Susan read a book in the conservatory and I potted outside, before I came on to the PC and she cut the lawns. A fairly blissful... Sign in to see full entry.

Are they on drugs or are we?
So now it appears that drugs have been found at John Reid’s house. I know their discovery was suspect and possibly already in the house when he bought it but it does add up to another crack in this government’s armour – or is it a seismic shift inspired by the media? I was considering the other day... Sign in to see full entry.

Difficult times
I find it amazing that important 'senior people' in the government should somehow be excused their lack of judgement because of pressure or 'other difficulties.' If I was consistently bad at my job or if I lied to my colleagues at work or cheated on my wife or told many other people they were losing... Sign in to see full entry.

Is it an age thing
My parents came round for a meal on Easter Sunday and we then played Canasta afterwards and had a thoroughly nice family evening. My father's poor insight, porr hearing and generally negative outlook seem to have been suppressed (I suspect by my mother) but probably only for the duration of the... Sign in to see full entry.
