It's my weekend and you know what that means...homework

I'm in college again this semester. U.S. History from the end of the civil war to present and English 102 which is about writing research papers. I'm behind in my reading and on my participation in the discussion boards on English. I worked on it quite a bit last night after watching watching some... Sign in to see full entry.

I didn't see any obvious tweakers last night so I didn't slap anyone

I can't say that I didn't see any tweakers because I know I did. You can't walk through three casinos and not see them but none caught my eye. Any country fans out there? I'm not one for country music. Never have been. My wife likes country music. Probably one of the negative side effects of being... Sign in to see full entry.

If you read my fitness blog than you know that I have a nasty cold

I went to the store yesterday to buy some Actifed. I searched up and down the aisles but I could not find any Actifed. It has worked well for me in the past so I thought I would give it a try. I just couldn't find it. My first thought was that the store didn't stock any. My wife and I noticed this... Sign in to see full entry.

Writing a research paper - last semester was Pop Tarts

If you read my religion blog than you know part of my dilemma for this semester. Last semester, I ended up writing my research paper on Pop Tarts. It was a light piece designed to meet the criteria of the class without really meaning a whole lot. It worked. I got an A. Part of the problem with these... Sign in to see full entry.

In a hurry to die?

Thor brought up a good point which is even more of a pet peeve than just the obesity trend and that's the people who are both obese and smoke. I know that my pet peeve is just that, mine. I have tried to figure out why I think this way and it all comes back to my point of view. It started when I was... Sign in to see full entry.

'Mom's not going to look comfortable in that casket,'

I was going to switch the topic over to smoking because I live in Nevada, the state with the highest per capita of smokers and the state that will most likely be one of the last to have clean air acts because of the casinos. Smoking, drinking, and gambling, go together. Any lawmaker that is going to... Sign in to see full entry.

Smoking vs. Obesity

First, a graph for anyone that was curious about the U.S. vs. other countries. The names didn't come out very clear so here are the worst five from right to left: United States, Mexico, United Kingdom, Slovak Republic, and Australia. At the other end from left to right: Korea, Japan, Switzerland,... Sign in to see full entry.

I'm back from Blogger hell

Two nights ago, I came home from work and went to check my email. The internet was down. Not a major problem because it was late and I was tired so I went to bed. It was still down when I woke up yesterday. This was not okay because I'm doing online college and had planned on doing homework. Usually... Sign in to see full entry.

All this talk about obesity - I better come clean with this confession

I checked my weight vs. height at FitDay.com and I'm in the "Severe Overweight" category. It's the worst category they have. I weight 205 pounds and according to them I'm supposed to be under 175. I can tell you right now that I will most likely never be 175 pounds. I would have to quit lifting... Sign in to see full entry.

I thought I was being too harsh but things turned around quickly

I had just finished my post yesterday about obesity and Trey and I were out for our walk. It was a nice day and the post was fresh on my mind. The problem of obesity in America is going to cause us all kinds of problems. We'll adapt of course but it's going to be expensive to do it. I've had people... Sign in to see full entry.
