They don't serve french fries anymore at the school where my wife works

They are making some changes in schools across the nation and some of those changes have made it all the way out here. They are trying to create a healthier environment for the kids. Let me stop here for a second to wonder this out loud. What took so long? In fact, why did we start poisoning the... Sign in to see full entry.

I think I'll take that Toyota Tercel - could you supersize that for me?

I was chatting with a surveillance operator last night and we were talking about obesity in America. Watching people all day, it's very eye catching when you see someone that is fit. She says they practically jump out at her because everyone is overweight. I told her about some of the things that... Sign in to see full entry.

Here's a picture of where we will probably be moving

This picture covers much of the valley. I pulled it from the web. The next time we go up there, I'll take some pictures to post here. The area that we think we'll end up is near the base of the mountains and left of the center of the picture. We were thinking about going up there on Labor Day... Sign in to see full entry.

We are working on a plan to move a little closer to my in-laws

That's our plan anyway. We have set as the target date somewhere between 1 year and 3 years. 1 year would be a miracle, 2 years is the most likely, and 3 years is that back up if things haven't gone quite right. We know the general area where we are going to live. Trey had such a great time up there... Sign in to see full entry.

This post probably belongs in Blogopoly because it's humor but it's true

And it happened today. So, it goes in the journal. Let me give you the back story and then we can get to today. A couple of years ago, I noticed that I was starting to lose my hearing. It happened over a period of weeks and I suspected what was happening but being a guy, I chose to ignore it for as... Sign in to see full entry.

Can you hear me now?

I have been surprised to find out some of things that are in this little town in the desert. People come out here and ask what's here and it's surprising what you can tell them. It doesn't look like much more than a few casinos sitting in a desert. As Salt Lake City gets bigger, so will this little... Sign in to see full entry.

A Tale Of Two Cities in two states

My little town is on that state line dividing Nevada and Utah. Being in a city divided by a state line wouldn't mean much by itself but with these two states, there is definitely a line. Nevada is known for it's condoning of sin. We have gambling, alcohol, and brothels. Utah, on the other hand, is... Sign in to see full entry.

Another look at where we live

Most of the air force base is gone now. Torn down to make room for the city. There are some hangars left, a church that has been made into apartments, the swimming pool that I showed you, and a few barracks. I wish they would do more to keep the rest of the base from going downhill but the county... Sign in to see full entry.

Some pictures for Thor and a "Thank You" to all bloggers

Let me start off with the thank you. I got up this morning and found more comments to my blogs than I have had in a long time and I want to thank you all. I know the ranking system lets me know that people are reading my blogs but it's not the same. You all know this. A comment means that people... Sign in to see full entry.

When we got home from our trip, Trey got to go see a lynx

A friend of my parents has a lynx that had a kitten and they invited us over to see it. Trey wasn't too sure about getting much closer. He did touch her once but the owner is holding the lynx's head just to make sure Trey doesn't get bit so I understand his concern. She certainly a pretty cat. Sign in to see full entry.
