A Warning

Back in the earliest pages of this blog, posted on Jan 6, I drew a model of three concentric circles. http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/Ciel2752/s35 And now I draw your attention to that model once again. Particularly to the second circle, the level of thought-forms, where it's all about blueprints that connect and integrate the intention of the spiritual with the manifestation of the physical. In that second circle, thoughts have form, they have reality, but it is a subtle reality compared... Sign in to see full entry.

Why Bother With Religion?

I am spiritual: I am not a member or advocate of any specific religion. Religion is dogma, creed and ritual: it informs its followers of what to believe and how to act in accordance with the Truth it declares.. I can give that space in my Reality. Where I have to draw the line is when a religion takes it upon itself to punish those who choose other Truths and paths. I believe in the physical laws of gravity and conservation of energy and evolution. (You who think you can prove evolution has not... Sign in to see full entry.

Got a friend? Here's a grounding exercise / game that takes two:

First, stand facing each other. Taking turns, first one then the other, give your partner a little shove. Notice how they react, how it feels when you push them, How did it feel to get pushed? Second, try lifting each other just a little off the ground. Again, notice the sensation of lifting, and being lifted. Now -- and you can do this standing if you like: Take a few minutes to say 'hello' to yourself, and establish your grounding. Remember, you don't have to try-- trying and doing don't work... Meditation 101: Sorting Yourself Out From The Chaos

prerequisites 1-- How Not To Get Fried (posted Feb 1st) http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/Ciel2752/s15 2 --Step One, practiced, preferrably, a couple of times or more The first step sat you down, and got you into communication with yourself. It helped you locate your self inside all the fuss and bother that is your daily routine in this busy, noisy, demanding world. It helped you make a distinction between your Self and your Body. The second step helps you define your Self in relation to the... Sign in to see full entry.

Welcome to Meditation 101 -- Say Hello--

Hello! and Welcome! The first step is to sit down. That might be the hardest thing to do, considering how busy lives are, how short the hours, the number of demands from moment to moment... Finding the time to get quiet and still-- 20 minutes? An hour is better, but 20 minutes is a start... That's the first commitment you have to make to meditation. The second step is to close your eyes, and turn inwards. Stop paying attention to what's going on around you. At first, finding a place that is... Sign in to see full entry.

Contemplation on Meditation: Experiencing Spirit--part 2

What's meditation? Wait, I have to think about that... (Heheheh...) All right... Meditation can be any of a number of techniques to either help you get out of your body-sense, and thus away from its distractions, so you can experience your Self as Spirit, or to help you get into your body-sense, to become more aware of its subtle dynamics and messages and the relationship between Spirit and Body. There is a lot of emphasis in several religious traditions on escaping the terrible trap that is the... Sign in to see full entry.

Altered States: Going Out by Going Inward --- Experiencing Spirit--part 1

I've recently come across at least three reports about how human beings are genetically / biologically predisposed towards the spiritual experience. One was about how forms of meditation and prayer actually change how the brain is working: In profound states of inward-turning, whether prayers of a Catholic nun or meditations of a yogi, certain areas of the brain grow quiet and others light up. The ones that go quiet are the same areas that control the personal sense of individuality and... Sign in to see full entry.

white...white... white...white... Your Energy: Part Ten

white, oyster shell, bright white, off-white... Our palette here gives us the use of one actual white, but if you've ever looked at wall-paint samples, you don't need me to tell you how many different whites there are! To the inner eye, there is also Elmer's White --the color of the glue, with a similar consistancy. You may hear quite a lot about the wonderful White Light, as it has commonly been considered the Best Color, and equated with Godliness since the good old Victorian Metaphysics days... Beyond the Rainbow... Your Energy: Part Nine

And then there are all the rest of the colors... Browns and greys, white, gold, silver, black... And how many shades of gold or silver can you think of...? How many kinds of white, of grey? What about copper? How about that octarine ( a hat-tip to Terry Pratchett and the Discworld)? Mauve, puce, chartreuse... Of the entire electromagnetic spectrum, how much of it can we see? How much of it can we actually sense at all, with our five commonest senses? Not much. And how far can we see with Guy's... Sign in to see full entry.

They Call it Mellow Yellow... Your Energy-- Part Eight

Yellow --bright and cheery! Yellow, warm and buttery... Yellow, devoted to intellect... analysis... figuring-out... thinking-about... When I see that particular intense, deep yellow in an aura, I know some heavy thinking is going on. As I've mentioned elsewhere, there are some people who honestly regard thought as the highest purpose of humankind, some who would rather think than do... "Man seeks not to understand, but to explain..." I think it was Edward De Bono who said it that way, and... Sign in to see full entry.
