Not too long before I wrote my last post, a village police officer dropped by my apartment. I was sitting in my living room recliner at the time, and I remember seeing a portion of this officer's sleeve, and thinking that the handyman had suddenly recovered from his mysterious illness and decided to come over to work on the bathroom floor today after all. I'm tired, too
That's the title of one of my former pastor's sermons. The title actually describes such phenomena as something called "compassion fatigue." That's the term used to describe a certain set of feelings. You're supposed to feel sorry for someone with a given medical diagnosis, or who is the victim of a natural disaster or crime, or whatever. How to Ruin Your Husband's Job
I was reading an article on AOL this morning about how men and women can sabotage their spouses' careers. They mentioned things like calling your spouse frequently and feigning emergency status when the slightest bad event happens, and behaving in wrongheaded ways at company-sponsored social events like the annual Christmas party, among other things.
