Time sure flies, redux

I used the words "time sure flies" in Organ Donor Awareness Week near one of the anniversaries of my transplant. (I had my 27th such anniversary nearly six months ago, before I came down with bacterial meningitis.) At 5 AM Central Daylight Time, the power went out due to what I'd politely call bad weather - in other words, a severe line of thunderstorms crossing the Chicago area and serving as the southern border of a cool front. My suburb, and those suburbs bordering mine, were all affected by this outage, as I found out when I called ComEd (our local power company). I'd say fifteen to thirty minutes prior to this outage, I'd heard about the aforementioned line of... Sign in to see full entry.
