They, I don't know exactly who, are always advising people to stop and smell the roses. I usually do. I have miniature roses, and tea roses and big red roses. The red ones smell the best. - Now I remember someone saying that they would smell the roses while running full tilt down the road of life. I think it was Garth Brooks who said that. I was happily typing along, surfing the net, reading blogs, making comments when I noticed my fingers were sticking to several of the keys. The L was the worst. I couldn't figure out how it got so sticky. I hadn't eaten anything. As a matter of fact I had been sitting in the same place for quite a while. The only time I had been up for the past hour or so was to let Bo out, then let him back in again. So where did I get sticky stuff on my fingers? Oh No! Was I becoming so sweet that I was oozing... This is not what you might think it is. It is about a 99 cent aloe vera plant. I bought it more than ten years ago. Over the years it grew and grew. I transplanted it to big pot. It still grew until I put it in the biggest pot I could find. It went from about three inches to about three feet! When it got so big it almost covered the table it was on I had hopes that it would bloom. Then maybe I would have a whole new plant. I recently saw a TV hanging on a wall as if it were a painting. It made me wonder is television is anything at all like a painting? Well, maybe yes and maybe no. A painting is a sort of window into another world. So in that way the TV is like a painting. But with the painting the viewer has to use their eye, brain, and yes their imagination to enter that other world. With TV all you need is the remote. I just gave away a couple of boxes of my mom's things and behind the boxes Bo found the squeaky ball that mom had bought him!!! While I carried the boxes to the front porch, Bo ran around the house like a maniac with that ball. By the time I got back in the the house, the ball had disappeared again. I figured Bo was running so fast and hard he had let go of it and it had rolled under or behind something. "Where's your squeaky ball?" I asked him. Yeah, these flowers are real! If you don't believe me ask Wiley. He has some just like them. They are called Hoya. Sometimes it's called 'grandma's old fashioned wax plant' cause the flowers look like wax. I used t think they were native to the southwest, kind of like a desert plant, but I was wrong since we all know Wiley isn't in the southwest but up north in Canada. What we really need in this country is a good drive up grocery store! I could get everything on my list and not come home with those double Dutch chocolate brownies that tempt me while I am waiting in line. Not to mention those trashy papers. A drive up grocery store would be so convenient. You could just give them your list at the first window. Then you pay for what they have, hopefully everything, at the second window. You can't turn on the TV, or read a paper without some mention of the 'bird flu.' It's either spreading or mutating or a new human case has been reported. Sometimes there is a warning of how the world will just stop turning if it gets here and we're not ready for it! I don't know what they think we can do. I almost always get a flu shot, and I still sometimes get the flu. I had wondered how the bird flu could get here then it dawned on me...they will just spread their wings and fly here! As I... I like tea. Mostly I like it in a large glass, filled with ice, lemon, and sugar or maybe some sweet n' low. Did you know that sweet n' low sweetens tea better than sugar? It dissolves better. Sugar just sinks to the bottom of the glass. That is how you can tell when you are in a room full of iced tea drinkers. You can hear the clank clink of the spoons stirring sugar into the tea.
