I'd forgotten what it was like to feed quarters into a laundry machine...

...but now I remember. Now that I'm living in New York, I understand what people mean when they say this city is so expensive. Take, for example, laundry. The only place in walking distance that I would actually schlepp my landry to (ie, around the corner) charges $2 per load. That wouldn't be so bad, except for the fact that they want this $2 in quarters. You know what that mean, don't you? It means hoarding quarters. Parachute

I have very, very good news! Yesterday evening I got an e-mail from the associate editor at Parachute. She says that the two women I interviewed with really seemed to like me, and they want to do a "round two" with me. That is, they want me to read a summary of a book and write a few short paragraphs about it--similar to a blurb on the back of a book. This looks promising, no? Sign in to see full entry.
