I'd forgotten what it was like to feed quarters into a laundry machine...
...but now I remember. Now that I'm living in New York, I understand what people mean when they say this city is so expensive. Take, for example, laundry. The only place in walking distance that I would actually schlepp my landry to (ie, around the corner) charges $2 per load. That wouldn't be so bad, except for the fact that they want this $2 in quarters. You know what that mean, don't you? It means hoarding quarters. It means asking for change in quarters when you go to a restaurant or store.... Sign in to see full entry.
