Back in April, just as my senior year of college was drawing to a close, I did a very bad thing that almost got me kicked out of school. I don't want to go into the details of it right now, because I'm still embarrassed by what happened, but I had a nonverbal altercation with someone, which led me, in anger, to retaliate in one of the worst possible ways. Chris's parents are really cool people. I've only met them a few times, but they were always really nice to me and insisted that I keep in touch. Chris once told me that after meeting me for the first time, his dad said to him, "you usually bring home girls, but this time you brought home a woman!" I've always taken that as a complement. So I had my meeting yesterday at Parachute. The meeting was essentially so that the associate editor could meet me. I was surprised to find that she's only a few years older than I am, and started out as an assistant herself. They began the meeting by asking me questions about myself. They basically told me right off the bat that I was the only person they'd called back in for a second interview.
