There's a new commercial for dog food that gives a whole new meaning to the term "doggie bag." It starts out with a darling little dog peeking out of a turquoise handbag. "I promise to go where you go." The narrator says. A woman with matching slacks and shoes picks up the bag with the dog in it, which matches her clothes! A doggie bag! I was doing some mending and watching TV. I happened to look up and on the screen a guy was talking, my eyes semi-focused on something on the wall behind the guy. I'm nearsighted so I couldn't tell what it was. I thought it looked like a lawn mower. I squinted, no maybe it was a wheel barrow.. I reached for my glasses and took a better look. {I know this is not technically an ode...but I do love slurpees!} There's nothing quite as good on a hot day as a frosty Slurpee. At least that's what I used to think. But then I also used to drink them in the dead of winter. I liked cherry the best. Then lime. If there was nothing but orange left, well, I rarely got desperate enough to take orange. WAAAACHOOOO! Stop me before I sneeze my brains out...Ah..Ahhh...Aachoooo! Too late. Sniff sniff..wpthppttth! Whew. Glad I had a Kleen...oh sorry, a tissue or I would be windexing the computer screen, and the wall, desk, chair floor ceiling and yes the dog too!. I twisted the knob on the lamp, the light flashed on and flickered out. I twisted the knob again. (it's a three way lamp) It flickered again. The third twist was no more successful than the first. Darn. Another burned out lightbulb. I went to the closet to get a new bulb. Uh oh...there were none. I needed a three way bulb, but would settle for anything. I have been thinking about planting a veggie garden. I can't wait for Spring. I was just thinking how different vegetables are also a lot alike. Potatoes, radishes, carrots and even beets and turnips, are all roots, onions too. I'd say in a way they are all related! I have to wonder if they ever get together for holidays, anniversaries, birthdays and such. I bet when they do, some of them get cooked, others get bagged and some probably just try to stay crispy! Bo, my Sheltie-x doggie, is a few feet away from me on his favorite rug fast asleep, with his paws in the air. I'm not sure, but I think he is snoring. It sounds remarkably like purring! (he must be part kitten) I think he's tired. (doh) We started the day with a nice long walk. We went all the way up to the grocery store. We didn't have to walk back. Well to the questions that I can answer. But first: Remember the bread I bought just before Christmas and was still good more than a month later? Well, I still have some and.... LOOK! It still hasn't turned green! It's a little dry. But peanut butter would fix that. Well peanut butter fixes almost anything...even that leak in the bathroom. Wow! The red light cameras seem to be everywhere. The city is making a mint off of them. But I am still crying crocodile tears because the city council cut the mayors funding for the aquarium. We really need those sharks and sting rays here in the middle of the desert. Maybe we should fly in a couple of whales too! Back in the state capital, they are drooling trying to figure out some way to get their grubby paws on some of the money those cameras are generating. Then there are the ones who got...
