Well, the brainiacs up in Los Alamos are training bees to sniff out explosives. I didn't even know that bees could smell. I guess they can, and that explains how they find the flowers they get nectar from. That also explains the bee in the nasal allergy spray commercial. He might really need nasal spray. I still don't know why he has a French accent though. To get back to the bomb sniffing bees, the article said that they harness the bees and use positive re-enforcement or was it negative well... A GHOST WHO WATCHES SOAPS?
The people who own one of the restaurants in town that is haunted told me that they have a friendly sort of guard ghost at home. This ghost plays with the dogs, watches the kids and, get this, is addicted to soaps! They named him George. Actually I noticed that Paul calls everyone George. It is easier than remembering names I guess. Anyway every day, even when no one is home, their TV turns on to "The Bold & The Beautiful" and stays on through "The Young an The Restless." Recently he has stayed... Sign in to see full entry.

ZOOM! ZOOM! SCREECH!
Well, I was getting ready for bed. The outside window was open and I could hear some traffic in the distance. Then suddenly I could hear an engine roar! Someone was going really fast! I could hear it shift as it went even faster and it was a lot louder. Vroom VROOM ERRRR! I didn't think it could go any faster. Then it did. I got a knot in my stomach feeling sure I was going to hear a loud crash, or at least the screech of breaks. It only went faster as the sound finally faded in the distance.... IS IT REAL COKE?
Do you remember back when coca-cola came in little green bottles? You know, the kind of bottles you could take back to the store for a deposit. It seems that coke tasted a whole lot better back then. I am not sure why it tasted better, but it did. Maybe it was the green bottles. The color kept light from getting to the cola and kept it fresher. Of course if that is really the case then canned coke should taste just like the old bottles did. It doesn't. I guess it could be the green glass just... Sign in to see full entry.

JUST HANGING IN THERE!
I just had to take a picture of these beautiful gold, maybe yellow, leaves that are still hanging in my tree. Guess these hardy leaves are going to hang on till we have a really hard freeze. Funny thing though, the leaves on the side of the tree that was struck by lightning have all fallen. Well, I'm gonna enjoy these as long as they hang around. Thanks for dropping in! You got any leaves hanging on in your neck of the woods? Sign in to see full entry.

ARE YOU SHIFTY?
SHIFTY EYES? ( ) "He has shifty eyes!" That's what my dad said about a character in a soap opera called "The Young and The Restless." (Y&R) Mom and I watched it almost every day. (I taped it, and we would watch in the evening.) I still watch it. Dad could keep up with it by watching once a year. So he claimed. But he did watch more often than that cause I caught him with the TV tuned to Y&R out in the garage. Anyway he nicknamed one of the characters on the soap 'Shifty' because the first time... IS YOUR REFRIGERATOR RUNNING?
Well, mine was! I tried to catch it, but couldn't. Well, actually it runs, and then stops for a while. Then it starts again. I guess that's how it is supposed to save electricity. I know I hadn't really noticed it running much, until recently. I moved my little writing workspace to the kitchen. (Not a good idea..too close to food.) Anyway, I was sitting there reading through e-mails, when I heard-- Gulp! trickling water! It was coming from inside the refrigerator. I looked down, expecting a... Sign in to see full entry.

JUST A FEW TURKEYS!
Here's a picture I found of the turkeys my grandpa used to raise. Kind of pretty aren't they? They were friendly too! They would just run right up and greet you. "Gobble! Gobble! Gobble!" I think that translates to "Do you have our grain?" I didn't have any, but grandpa gave them plenty. Most of them were 35 pounds and up! Big breasts...and they could still mate! Thanks for dropping by! Have A Happy Thanksgiving! I wish you peace. Sign in to see full entry.

DUST-FREE WRINKLES?
Oh! No! I have an iron and ironing board up! Eeek! For a lot of years I managed to live in a world where the iron was a doorstop and the ironing board was no where to be found. But then...ulp! I got on sort of a house-cleaning treadmill! My biggest mistake was washing the curtains out on the sunroom porch. Yes, they were dirty, but it was the dirt that was holding them together! Also all that dust and dirt was wrinkle free! But the curtains that survived the wash. Well once they dried they were... Sign in to see full entry.

HANGNAILS?
I hate it when I get a hangnail. Don't you? My nails are constantly shredded from housework, cleaning and even typing. Owww! I just broke a nail on this doggone keyboard. OK not really. A computer keyboard is a lot easier on your nails than an old fashioned typewriter. I recently got fake nails, they call them acrylic. They cost twenty-five dollars and you have to have them re-done (re-based) every other week or you can get a fungus. Probably, caused by the fact that your real nails can't breath...
