I recently discovered New Mexico Pinon coffee! Well I didn't discover it, as in invent it. I just found a nearby store where they sell it. They even have it priced reasonably. Well now when a pound of Folgers used to cost a dollar. But compared the price of Folgers now. A 13 oz can/plastic container of Folgers now runs about $3.89! I just saw a TV commercial for "Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner." It kind of looks like it is randomly hosing down the shower, and if you don't close the curtain or shower door, it will randomly squirt you! That could be just a bit annoying if you are trying to brush your teeth. But it could be deadly if you are trying to style you hair with a hair dryer! ZAP! Hummm...Zap? It seems everywhere I go I run into ghost stories, urban legends, folklore and even some tall tales. I have a friend who tends to stretch the truth almost to the breaking point. He drives some people crazy. I've given up trying to make him get real. When he gets on a roll I don't think he knows what is true and what's not. He gets caught up in his own story and takes whoever is listening along for the ride. Sometimes it is like watching a movie. All I have to do is suspend my disbelief and enjoy... Sometimes when I am in my easy chair with note pad and pen trying to write, Bo, my sheltie dog, jumps on my lap, usually right on top of the writing pad. This can make it a little difficult to write. So after I give him a few pets and make sure he doesn't need to go out, he makes himself comfortable in my lap. I have found if I move the writing pad over to the arm of the chair I can continue writing while he watches. At first I thought he had fallen asleep with his head on my left hand. But... I finally cleaned out my freezer. Way in the back I found frozen fruit bars. I vaguely remember buying them when my dad was sick, and I couldn't get him to eat much of anything. He would eat those and he seemed to really like them. After he passed away those fruit bars just got pushed to the back of the freezer. Behind Mom's ice cream and my toaster strudels. On white bread...Is just one of the combinations we thought of the other day when I had a few friends over for sandwiches and home made chicken noodle soup. We were trying to come up with the best sandwich combination to go with the soup. I suggested ham, mainly because that's what I had in the refrigerator. It was a sleepy sort of Sunday afternoon. I was watching a DVD of "Ghost Hunters" It was raining which was why I was inside. Anyhooo...I got up to get a glass of ice tea. (Don't you love how you can pause a DVD so you don't miss anything if you need a break?) I was just putting the ice tea back in the refrigerator when the lights went out. The fridge went dark. I tried to brush the dust off of this picture. I don't know if you can see it but it looks like dust on the bear's back. But it is in the picture. Guess the poor bear is turning grey. Almost every Wednesday I am awakened at 7:00 AM by the ear piercing squeak of the trash truck. Well, it is really the recycling truck. The trash truck is automated, it has metal arms that lift the plastic trash cart up and dump it into the truck. More often than not they dump some on the street. The it drops the cart in the gutter with a loud thud! I can actually sleep through the lift and thud of the garbage truck.
