"Rose bud." Does that remind you of a movie? It should. But that's not what I want to talk about. I want to talk about bud watching. Rose bud watching. I really like it when I can cut a rose bud put it in a bud vase and watch it bloom. Watching it open gradually to become a big beautiful rose is almost magical. It is magic! A lot of things seem like gibberish at first glance. Also at second and third glance. Then sometimes you can look one more time and it isn't gibberish any more! That's because you've been looking at it so long it just seems familiar. A foreign language written or spoken, can seem like gibberish, until you figure out what the words are and what they mean. I tuned in the "Tonight Show" the other night to find Jay Leno, known around here as Jaw Lean-O, with all black hair! I thought he had been into the greacian formula or had found a new use for black shoe polish. Then I noticed something. He was trying to act like Johnny Carson! Which was kind of funny cause he is not Johnny C. Then he told a couple of political jokes about President Clinton that went right over my head and crashed into the wall. I like naps! Anytime. Morning naps, afternoon naps, even night time naps. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night, just in time to take a nap. Sounds like I sleep a lot doesn't it? Well I don't! ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Ah! Naps are so refreshing. Even very short ones like that. Now what was I saying? Oh yeah. Naps are nice, and I don't really sleep all the time. Well, they are not really that weird. For the last couple of weeks I have craved a bowl of cereal right after the ten o'clock news. Between ten thirty and eleven. I finally figured out why. You see since they have only been showing Leno re-runs I switched to another station. Now you might be wondering, 'Is there a cereal channel?' Well, not that I know of. Whooo Woo Woohoohoo! Scary. That sound was coming from the TV in the den! Ahhh! The TV is haunted! Then I heard, "I'm no superman!" There were commercials then it seemed like ER was on, but no! What show is this? It's funny! I watched it! Wow! It's like being right there in the hospital with them. It was fast, skipped around a lot and had a lot of weird sound effects. � Well no wonder I liked it. All too often that is exactly how my brain works. Well, it started out as night sounds. "Tap! Click! Tap! Click!" was the sound that woke me. At first I thought was Mom trying to find her way to the bathroom without turning on a light. She would tap her hand along the wall and her nails would make a clicking sound. Then I realized it couldn't be her, and listened trying to discover just what the noise was. Ah ha! Remote controls should be made of rubber, so that they bounce when you drop them instead of breaking. Although I have found that they are pretty sturdy. I broke my favorite one last night. Usually when I drop it I can pick it up, put the pieces back together and it works! This time I put it together and it wouldn't work! I even tried new batteries. It didn't help. Darn.
