Hollywood hairspray...no " Grande Finale" Yeah, that's the name of the hairspray my mom used to use. Smelling it reminds me of her. It's one of the best smells you find at a beauty shop. Matter of fact it is almost the only good smell in a beauty shop. That is if you don't count coffee brewing first thing in the morning. The other smells you might run into there can be...well, almost toxic! I think the worst smell is the perms! Even though they have improved them a lot over the last few decades... When my dad told me that hot dogs were made with toe nails and pig snouts, I wouldn't eat them any more. Then one time when I was at the grocery store, I stopped to read the ingredients on sevral hot dog labels. Toe nails and snouts are not listed!!! When I told my dad this he said, "Oh they don't have to list them, but believe me, they are in there!" Hummmmm...I have to wonder. I remember the first time I ever saw one of those direct TV dish thingys. My neighbors got one. They had the dish put on the roof on the side of the house facing my back yard. I don't think I would have even noticed it, but Bo did. He was barking at it. At least I think that is what he was barking at. He was sitting there looking up barking away. I give Bo two or three (or four or five) milk bones every day. I started putting them out on the counter between the kitchen and the dining room every morning. I would get them out, give Bo one, and leave the others on the counter. Then today I came in and was going to give Bo one of his milk bones. I went to the couter where I was sure I left two earlier. Well, it's only one rug, but it is a big one. It's what I think they call a runner. I have it in front of the stove. It catches splatters and feels nice to my feet if I have to stand there cooking for any length of time. I was pouring a cup of coffee, my hand hit the cup. It flipped over and landed SPLAT! on the rug. Darn! I wanted that coffee too! Good thing it wasn't very hot. I had turned the pot off earlier. Yes, was planning to heat it up n the microwave. OK. I'll admit it. I have two pairs of fuzzy bedroom slippers. One pair is pink the other one is blue. The problem is since Bo likes to chew on them and then hide them from me, I rarely have two slippers of the same color at once. It's a lucky thing that the right and left feet are more or less interchangeable. Otherwise I'd either have to go out in the morning to get the paper barefooted or wear two right or two lefts and limp. As it is I am that crazy lady with two different colored slippers.... If you have ever hung or taken down any drapes, I bet you know where the blood comes in. If you don't know you are about to find out. About a week ago I noticed the drapes in the den were getting a little dingy. OK a lot dingy dusty and dirty. I tried to think back to the last time they had been cleaned. It had to be when I was in high school. I can remember my grandma came over to help mom take them down. They were sent to the cleaners and when they came back both grandma and I helped mom hang... They just re-opened my branch of the library. It has been closed for the last seven months for 'renovations.' You might think that would make me happy. It should. I wanted to see what they did that took seven months. I was surprised to discover they did NOTHING! At least nothing I could see right away. I had expected fresh paint, maybe some new bookshelves a few new tables. Something! I walked through the library trying to detect seven months worth of renovation. I headed to the fiction section.... OK, every time I go to take a bath I would find little black bugs in the tub. I figured they must be coming in from the window over the tub. So I closed the window, cleaned the tub and took my bath. Next time I checked, they were back! Not the same bugs. I flushed those. New ones. There must be an open space around the window. I checked but didn't find any. On my way out yesterday morning I found this... It was on a piece of wood I had sitting on the workbench. I thought it was pretty so, since it was still there when I got back, I took its picture. Evening came and it was still there! So I thought I'd see if I could move it. I got a piece of paper and tried to slip it under the critter. It flew up and started flying around the overhead light.
