Lots of things are hot. Hot cakes (yumm) Hot tamales! (yum again) Hot dogs. ( the food not the animal) All things to eat. Guess I am a little hungry. I'm also hot! That's cause it's almost 100 outside! Of course right now, I am inside, but I just came from outside. So I guess you could say I'm cooling down. Whew! Thank goodness my air conditioner is working! Well, I had been outside working in the yard. I came in to wash up. As I was putting moisturizer on my face, I looked in the mirror and noticed one of my emerald earrings was gone! I hadn't felt anything at all! They are pierced earrings with safety screw-on backs! Yet there it was, or rather wasn't. The one that should have been on my right ear wasn't there. I guess they have to be western bees. They should be on little tiny horses with even smaller saddles. I wonder would they wear cowboy boots? How many? Do bees even have feet? OK. Now I am giggling and have gotten way off the subject I started to write about. Let's start over. Yeah, bees and purple sage. Maybe I should start with the purple sage. Is this going to be about human cells? Uh no. Prison cells? Luckily not. Then what kind of cells? Cell phones? Well, yeah I guess. I can remember over twenty years ago seeing one of the first cell phones. I was with some friends. No none of us had the phone. We were on Rodeo drive in Hollyweird California. We all know that sugar is bad for us. But is it evil? I don't know. Nothing that tastes so good could be all bad. It's just that too much of it leads to bad things. My dad told me a story about a wealthy entrepreneur and one of his assistants looking at sugar through a microscope. The entrepreneur declared that it was evil. It must look really scary up close. You might think that it has just stopped raining. Well, it did rain a little last night. Just enough to dirty the windows I washed last week. That's OK. I washed the windows to make it rain. That is my story and I am sticking to it. Then when the rain does stop the sun comes out and makes the air fresh and clean, and a little steamy. It almost seems to refresh the whole earth. I just finished washing the dishes. I had to squeeze the last drops out of the bottle of dishwashing soap. Well, I didn't HAVE to. I have another bottle under the sink. But throwing away a bottle with just a little left just seems wrong. So I filled the bottle with hot water and squeezed the very last drops into the sink to wash the dishes. As I put the bottle down bubbles of all sizes flew out of it and danced around my head. Wow! There were a lot of them and they all seemed to be watching me!... Sign in to see full entry.

I just saw an advertisement for a six dollar burger. Six dollars? For a hamburger? I can make three hamburgers with all the fixings for that and have change. Now I have noticed that the 'six dollar burger' is awful big. They usually show someone taking a bite of it, but if you watch closely, they never actually swallow any of it. They just chomp at it and pretend to chew. I think one reason they do that is if they did really bite into it--The meat would squirt out one way the lettuce another and... Sign in to see full entry.

I finally figured out why the grass I planted in the bare spots in the front yard just won't come up. I looked out the front window today. There I saw two robins pecking the ground in the exact spot where I planted the grass! They were eating the seeds before they had a chance to sprout. Well, darn. Now what am I going to do? I have been washing my windows. After about a week of doing the outside, I started on the inside. Since I have double windows I have to take down both from each window and clean the inside and the outside. Then since it's been so hot I could close the windows and go outside to see if any of the cool air was escaping around the windows and seal leaks. I did find a few.
